Professor Sarah Sharples in the Faculty of Engineering and currently Chief Scientific Adviser for the Department for Transport has been appointed as Deputy Chair of Sub-panel 12 (Engineering) for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029 – the UK’s national system for assessing the quality of research in higher education.
